At Nissae Souss, our mission is to empower women and support vulnerable children by promoting equality, dignity, and opportunity. We are committed to fighting gender-based violence, social exclusion, and illiteracy through practical programs that offer protection, education, and long-term support. Every action we take is grounded in compassion and the belief that every woman and child deserves to live in safety, with the freedom to grow and thrive.

Supporting Women and Children in Taroudant Since 2013

At Nissae Souss, we believe that when women and children thrive, entire communities flourish.

Founded in 2013 by a group of dedicated women, Nissae Souss began as a grassroots initiative responding to the urgent needs of women and children in the Taroudant region. At the heart of this effort is Khadija El Ghzal, the founder and current president of the association.

Through her tireless work, compassionate leadership, and deep belief in the strength of every woman and child, she has helped shape Nissae Souss into a trusted support system for the community. Affectionately known as “Mama El Ghazal,” she represents comfort, strength, and hope to many.

Her nickname reflects the close bond she has formed with the many children and families supported by Nissae Souss, who see in her a mother figure and a steady source of care. Under her guidance, the association continues to grow—transforming lives through small but meaningful acts of support

Multifunctional Center for Women

The Multifunctional Center for Women, managed in partnership with the Regional Directorate of National Cooperation, is a cornerstone of Nissae Souss’s mission to empower and protect women facing adversity. Located in the heart of Taroudant, the center serves as a safe, inclusive, and transformative space where women from diverse backgrounds are welcomed with respect and compassion.

Designed to address both immediate and long-term needs, the center provides legal assistance to help women navigate family law, domestic violence cases, and civil matters; social support to assist with housing, health, and family mediation; and professional development programs aimed at rebuilding self-confidence and financial independence. These include literacy courses, entrepreneurship coaching, sewing and culinary training, and skills-building workshops tailored to the local context and labor market.

More than just a service provider, the center functions as a community hub, where women find sisterhood, strength, and the tools to redefine their future. Many of the women who arrive at the center carry stories of trauma, exclusion, or poverty — but through care, education, and empowerment, they leave with new hope, new skills, and a renewed sense of self-worth.

At its core, the Multifunctional Center is not just about aid — it’s about transformation, restoring dignity, and nurturing resilience in every woman who walks through its doors.

Economic Empowerment and Rehabilitation Program

For Women Entrepreneurs and People with Disabilities in Taroudant
In partnership with the Social Development Agency

Description

In many regions of Morocco, women—especially those in precarious situations—and people with disabilities continue to face major barriers to employment, financial independence, and inclusion. In response to these challenges, Nissae Souss launched the Economic Empowerment and Rehabilitation Program in partnership with the Social Development Agency, with the aim of fostering autonomy, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods for these often-marginalized groups.

This program was specifically designed to support women entrepreneurs and people living with disabilities in the Taroudant region, by offering them the tools, skills, and support necessary to initiate or strengthen income-generating activities, build confidence, and integrate socially and economically.

Objectives

Enhance the professional and entrepreneurial capacities of participants.
Support the creation and development of micro-projects tailored to local realities.
Promote financial independence and long-term economic resilience.
Encourage inclusive economic participation for people with disabilities.
Reduce dependency and social exclusion among women and persons with disabilities.

Key Activities

Business development training: Workshops on project planning, market access, and business management tailored to small-scale enterprises.
Technical and vocational training: Skills development in areas such as sewing, handicrafts, gastronomy, or services aligned with participants’ interests and local market demand.
Individual mentoring and coaching: Personalized follow-up to support project development and address specific challenges.
Micro-financing support: Assistance with accessing small grants or funding to launch or scale viable projects.
Awareness and inclusion sessions: Promoting the rights and potential of women and persons with disabilities in the local economy and community.
