Promoting Women’s Role in Local Governance
To strengthen the role of women in local leadership, Nissae Souss implemented a targeted project focused on increasing women’s political participation and building their capacity in local governance. Supported by the Support Fund for the Promotion of Women’s Political Representation, the project aimed to give women the tools and confidence to engage in public decision-making.
“When women lead, communities grow stronger and more inclusive.”
Over the course of several months, women participated in a series of intensive workshops and training sessions covering:
Local governance laws and regulations
Municipal budgeting and financial management
Leadership and advocacy skills
The program empowered many women to step into public life and encouraged inclusive policymaking in local institutions. It also helped create support networks among participants to share experiences and collaborate on community initiatives.
The project is a milestone in our mission to foster gender equality and elevate women’s voices in the governance of their communities.
