Who We Are

More than support
a commitment to dignity,
empowerment, and lasting change

At Nissae Souss, we work every day to uplift women and protect vulnerable children across the Souss Massa region. Rooted in compassion and action since 2013, our association stands as a safe space, a voice for justice, and a pathway to opportunity for those who need it most.

Who We Are

Founded in 2013 in Taroudant, Morocco, Nissae Souss is a nonprofit association dedicated to empowering women and supporting vulnerable children in the Souss Massa region. It is the only organization of its kind in the area that focuses specifically on promoting gender equality and providing protection, education, and dignity to those who are most at risk.
At the heart of the association is Khadija El Ghzal, known affectionately as “Mama Khadija” by many of the children and women she has supported. As founder and president, her deep compassion and tireless work have helped shape Nissae Souss into a trusted force for change in the community.
We are supported by a core team of professionals and a network of around 20 volunteers, operating from two primary centers: a multifunctional center for women and a shelter for orphaned and vulnerable children.

What makes NISSAE SOUSS different?

Nissae Souss is more than a support organization — it is a lifeline built within the community it serves. What sets us apart is our deep, personal connection to the women and children of Taroudant. We combine compassion with action, offering not just temporary aid, but long-term solutions rooted in education, empowerment, and dignity. Our team listens first, acts with empathy, and walks alongside every beneficiary on their journey to independence. With local leadership, trusted partnerships, and a human-centered approach, we turn challenges into transformation — one life at a time.

Our Approach

We take a comprehensive, rights-based approach that includes prevention, protection, and long-term empowerment. From emergency shelter and literacy programs to economic reintegration and family mediation, we offer support at every stage of the journey. Our work is community-centered, collaborative, and transparent. We partner with institutions such as the Regional Directorate of National Cooperation, the Ministry of the Interior, and Fondation de France to deliver sustainable impact.

“Beyond help — we build hope, restore dignity, and empower futures.”

Our Values

Empathy and Respect

We treat every woman and child with compassion and dignity, creating a safe space where they are truly heard and understood. Respect is at the heart of every action we take — because healing begins with being seen and valued.

Empowerment

We believe that every woman holds the strength to transform her life. Through education, support, and opportunity, we help unlock that potential, allowing her to rise with confidence and independence.

Child-Centered Support

Children are at the core of our mission. We provide not just protection, but love, stability, and opportunity — ensuring that every child can grow, learn, and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Justice and Equality

We are committed to fighting injustice and inequality in all its forms. Our work promotes equal rights, access, and opportunities for women and children — because no one should be left behind.

Community Engagement

Change happens when communities come together. We work hand in hand with local partners, volunteers, and families to build a future rooted in shared responsibility and collective strength.

Integrity and Transparency

We act with honesty and accountability in everything we do. From managing donations to delivering services, we ensure every action is guided by trust, responsibility, and ethical commitment to those we serve.
